Now that Fox’s X-Men franchise is effectively over (not holding my breath for New Mutants to ever see the light of day), it’s a good time to look back on the films that redefined the superhero genre and provide fans with some of the best and worst moments in comic cinema.
Dark Phoenix concludes the Fox’s X-Men franchise on a fairly uneventful note, bringing very little new to the table of a story the series has told once before. Decent acting, a satisfying third acting and a more focused narrative overall are the only things that save the film from being a complete bust for X-Men fans.
The release of this summer’s Dark Phoenix will mark the end of an era for the Fox X-Men franchise that has been ongoing since 2000, when Director Bryan Singer brought these characters to life on film.
